Kerala provides the perfect blend of emerald trees and gushing waters and is home to the gentle elephant and the mysterious tiger.
Day 01 – Arrive Cochin
Once you land a Trans India Holidays representative will assist in your transport and check in at the Brunton Boatyard where you will stay overnight.
The view at the Brunton Boatyard is of the calm harbor. A short walk away from the location takes you to Fort Cochin with its museum, churches and markets.
Day 02 – In Cochin
The day starts with a sumptuous breakfast and a guided tour of the city.
Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace) and the nearby Jewish synagogue stand testimony to history since the 16th century.
Cochin Harbor with its unique mesh of Chinese fishing nets is a wonderful sight.
St Francis church was built by Vasco da Gama. Another place Hill Palace, once the resident of the king, this is now a museum with a fine collection.
The Kerala Backwater & Houseboat Tours would be incomplete without a vibrant Kathakali performance depicting old epics.
Overnight in Cochin.
Day 03 – Drive Cochin - Periyar (200 kms / 4 hrs)
You can check out after your breakfast for the trip to Periyar where you will stay at the Spice Village. Spice village is a resort bordering the forest sanctuary. The cottages within the precinct are surrounded by flowers and exotic spices. Ask for the services of a guide to guide you around the estate.
The Periyar sanctuary is home to a wide variety of animals and the highlight is the artificially created lake that feeds the flora and fauna of the forest.

Day 04 - In Periyar
A boat ride in the Periyar lake will opportunity to see the pachyderms play in the waters. The spice plantations are a highlight of the Kerala Backwater & Houseboat Tours. The plantations and orchards date from the 14th century and provide a view to the thriving business of yore.
Overnight in Periyar.
Day 05 – Drive Periyar – Kumarakom (200 kms/04 hrs)
You will check out on this day and take the ride to Kumarakom where you will stay overnight at the Coconut Lagoon Resort.
The resort is situated in a coconut plantation with traditional cottages and modern bath amenities.
Kumarakom presents a small group of village islands, a major attraction of the Kerala Backwater & Houseboat Tours.
Day 06 – Kumarakom - Houseboat
Round up the Kerala Backwater & Houseboat Tours with an overnight stay in a houseboat.
The houseboat is manned by a boat crew and chef.
Day 07 – Houseboat- Cochin airport (85kms /02 hrs)
Have your breakfast and disembark at Alleppey to go to Cochin International airport.
