The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is a more luxurious and relaxed version of the ever popular Palace on Wheels. The itinerary of Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, in addition to Rajasthan’s highlights also includes North India’s high point of Agra, Varanasi and Khajuraho.The Journey on the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is like experiencing Rajasthan from a moving palace, where luxury and tradition go hand in hand.

 

Detailed itinerary :
Royal Rajasthan on WheelsDay-1 - Sunday - Departure 16.30 PM
Your Royal Rajasthan journey begins from Delhi and takes you through the old princely states. It is a seven day tour of the colorful state of Rajasthan. Passengers travelling on the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels luxury train, check in at the Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi, where they are traditional Indian welcome with aarti and tika, and then escorted to their respective cabins.

Reporting Time in New Delhi at 16.00 hrs & Departure for Jodhpur at 18.30 hrs.


Day – 2 - Monday - Jodhpur
Jaipur, Royal Rajasthan on WheelsArrival in Jodhpur at 09.15 hrs. Breakfast on board the train & Departure for Udaipur at 17.10 hrs.

Today the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels arrives in Jodhpur, the second largest city of the state of Rajasthan, also called the 'blue city'. The lively desert city of Jodhpur stands at the fringe of the Thar Desert. The city is differentiated by a huge fort that covers a sheer rocky ridge rising in the heart of the town. During sightseeing in Jodhpur, visit the two magnificent examples of the Rajput glory, the Mehrangarh fort and the Jaswant Thaada. Later, lunch at a 5 star Deluxe Heritage Hotel and onboard dinner.

Day – 3 – Tuesday - Udaipur
Jaipur, Royal Rajasthan on WheelsArrival in Udaipur at 08.00 hrs, & Departure for Chittorgarh at 14.30hrs.

Breakfast on board the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, followed by sightseeing of Udaipur visiting the Jagdish Temple, City Palace and Museum, and the Crystal Gallery, followed by a short Boat ride on the Lake Pichola.

A relaxing lunch at a 5 star hotel after which you reboard the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels bound for Chittorgarh.

Day-3, Tuesday, Arrival in Chittorgarh at 16.45 hrs& Departure for Sawai Madhopur at 22.00 hrs


Early evening arrive in the Rajput bastion of Chittorgarh. Chittorgarh is famous for the Chittorgarh Fort, where several battles were fought between the Rajputs and the invaders.  The Fort is full of images of love, velour and scars of battles lost and won.  Visit the Chittorgarh Fort, and also see the Sound and Light Show at the Chittorgarh Fort, that takes you through the history of Rajput and Mewar Kings.

Day – 4 – Wednesday – Sawai Madhopur
Arrival in Sawai Madhopur at 05.30 hrs, Breakfast on board the train or Hotel Vinayak& Departure for Jaipur at 11.00 hrs

Early this morning, the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels arrives in Sawai Madhopur, a city named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I.  After a relaxing breakfast, a visit to the Ranthambore National Park is arranged. This wildlife sanctuary is one of the major illustrations of the Project Tiger's conservation in Rajasthan. The Ranthambore National Park covers an area of over 400 sq. km. It has many sharp cliffs enfolding a route of lakes and rivers. The 10th century Ranthambore Fort stands as a silent watchman on one of these hills. This National Park is a combination of the fortified forest and the open chaparral land. The Ranthambore National Park is naturally a dry deciduous type of forest. Dhok is the most noticeable tree in the forest. Since, Ranthambore is a tiger reserve, glimpses of tigers are very common in this area, apart from that, the park has a few panthers too. Kachida Valley is known to be the best place to have a glimpse of these exclusive cats. One can also find marsh crocodiles, hyenas, jungle cats and the sloth bears. The avian population includes the black storks, quails, Bonelli’s eagles; spur fowls, crested serpent eagles and painted storks. During the winters, there are a lot of migratory birds in the forest, including a different variety of ducks. The National Park is well known for wildlife photography.

After a safari in Ranthambore National Park, return to the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels and leave for Jaipur, when one gets enough opportunity to see the beautiful countryside passing by the daylight.

Day-4 - Wednesday - Jaipur
Arrival in Jaipur at 13:15 hrs & Departure for Khajuraho at 22.15 hrs

Sweet music of ‘Shenai’ and attractive surroundings welcome the Royal Rajasthan Palace on Wheels to Jaipur. Jaipur is known as the “Pink City” because of the pink tinted constructions in the old city.  It is situated on a dry lake bed, bordered by barren hills vanquished by forts and broken walls. The city was found in 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II, who wanted to be in the good books of the then ruling Mughals. He positioned the city with rectangular blocks according to early Hindu architecture. It is a great city for shopping.

Later in the afternoon, sightseeing tour of the beautiful ‘Hawa Mahal’ (the palace of winds), elephants ride at Amber Fort and shopping century old object de arts & other items.

Jaipur, Royal Rajasthan on WheelsDay-5 - Thursday –Khajuraho
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels arrives in Khajuraho at 11.00 hrs & Departs for Varanasi at 18.30 hrs

Khajuraho was once the capital of the Chandela Rajput’s of Bundelkhand. It is the dwelling place of the World’s famous 10th century Khajuraho Temples. These temples have attractive and erotic rock carvings and the carvings symbolize some of the beautiful specimens of the medieval Hindu architecture and sculpture in the country. Guests will be taken for a visit to the temples and the museum.

Later, lunch at a 5-star hotel & dinner on board the train.

Day-6 – Friday -Varanasi (Banaras)

Varanasi is a special place for the Sanskrit scholars and students from all over India are seen here. The ancient city of Varanasi is located along the West bank of the river Ganges. This city extends back from the riverbank Ghats in a twisted collection of passageways. These passageways are too cramped for anything but walking. The city extends from Raj Ghat, near the bridge to Asi Ghat near the University.

Agra is the last stop on your Royal Rajasthan on Wheels journeyandone of the popular tourist spots in the World.Sightseeing in Agra includes a visit to the TajMahal, the World’s most extravagant monument of love, and the Agra Fort.

Day-8 - Sunday - Delhi
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels returns to Delhi at 04.00 hrs

Breakfast onboard the train, after which you disembark at about 07.30 hrs with pleasant memories of your trip.
