Cochin: - The natural harbor at Cochin is one of the world’s finest. The city is fast-paced and modern, yet retains its status as the Queen of the Arabian Sea. Scenic attractions include lagoons, beaches and peaceful backwaters.
The South India Holidays guided tour of Cochin takes visitors past points of interest such as the Mattancherry Palace (Dutch), the Jewish Synagogue, Cochin Harbor, St Francis church, Fort Kochi Beach and the Hill Palace. The evening is reserved for a performance of a Kathakali dance program at a local theater.
Kumarakom: Enjoy a leisurely drive to the resort and spend the balance of the day in relaxation mode.
Periyar – The sanctuary surrounding Lake Periyar is your best opportunity to view the magnificent Asian elephant.
A boat ride on Periyar Lake will include the chance to watch the herd of up to 700 pachyderms playing in the water of the lake. Later in the day, a visit to a spice plantation is scheduled.
Maduri is famous for the Meenakshi Temple. Visitors may enjoy an unstructured day to view religious, historic and cultural aspects of the city.
South India Holidays will provide a guided tour of several local places of interest, including the Meenakshi-Sundareswarar Temple, the Gandhi Museum, Thirupparankundram, the Koodal Azhagar Shrine, Tirumalai Nayakar Mahal Palace and the Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam platform—a shrine to Lord Vigneshwara. The tour then moves on to the Rock Fort city of Trichy.
Places of interest to experience in Trichy include Rock Fort Temple and Ranganathswamy Temple. The tour then moves on to Pondicherry for the rest of the day at leisure.
In Pondicherry, the tour group will visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, the Aurobindo paper factory and the Pondicherry Museum, followed by a drive to Mahabalipuram.
You will be treated to the architectural marvels of Mahabalipuram, followed by visits to points of interest in Kanipuram, such as the Kamakshi Amman, the Kailashanathar Temple and the Ekambareshwar Temple.
