The financial capital of India ,its most cosmopolitan city , Bombay is the industrial
powerhouse of India. The city is basically a group of seven islands amalgamated in to
one in the year 1862. Your tour of Bombay starts with a visit to
the Gateway of India - the majestic arch built on the waterfront to
commemorate the visit of King George V in 1911. The next stop
on your tour of Bombay is the Prince of Wales museum built in 1905.
The museum consists of a fine collection of miniature bas-reliefs from the
Elephanta caves. Proceed along the
Marine Drive, one of Bombays most popular promenades, dotted by sky scrapers on one side and the Arabian sea on the other.
Proceed on to the Hanging Gardens
a beautiful landscaped garden built on a series of reservoirs.
Then drive on to Mani
Bhawan where Mahatma Gandhi stayed
from 1917-34.The tour terminates at the
Nehru planetarium.
