Two kilometers south of Tashijong , at Taragarh, is the extraordinary Palace Hotel the summer palace of Dr Karan Singh, the son of the last maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir. Portraits of the royal family are displayed throughout the hotel which has the usual assortment of tiger skins and colonial furnishings.
